Another attraction that brings many people to Quarry Park is the Quarry Park Adventures ropes course. Offering more aerial attractions than any other location in the nation, Quarry Park Adventures is THE thrill-seeker’s destination in the Greater Sacramento area.

Historic Sites

Established in 1893, Rocklin is home to many historic sites dating back to the Gold Rush. Incorporated as a granite mining town, quarries can be found all around the city. The Rocklin History Museum is full of historical artifacts and is open every Saturday.

With so many activities to do in Rocklin, it is easy to spend your time in your own community. Yet, if you are looking to expand your adventure borders, Auburn is a must-see only minutes from your front door.

Located 20 minutes up the I-80 from Rocklin, Auburn is home to over 100 miles of hiking trails in the Auburn State Recreation Area. Some of the best-known hiking trails include:

  • Lake Clementine
  • Western States
  • The Quarry Trail 

The Hiking Trails

Lake Clementine is one of the most popular trails within the Auburn area. The trail leads up to the Lake Clementine Dam. At the end of the trail, hikers arrive at the dam where they are sprinkled with mist from the waterfall. It is a great place to take pictures and enjoy snacks while watching the water flow over the dam. The trail also has many locations that lead to the water, where people can be seen taking a dip into the water to cool off. 

The Quarry Trail follows the American River Middle Fork for 5.6 miles. There is a picnic area less than a mile into the hike with tables and chairs sitting right next to the river. A side trail leads up to Auburn Quarry where 100+ foot walls are being scaled by rock climbers. With over 50 different routes, Auburn Quarry provides the most top rope and sport climbing in the Sacramento area.

Spanning from Squaw Valley to the Auburn State Recreation Area, Western States is a 100 mile long trail. This trail is known for the Western States Endurance Run which is the world’s oldest 100 mile race. Whether you want to take on the entire 18,000 feet of incline and 23,000 feet of descent or you want to just hike a short stretch of the trail, Western States offers an exceptional trail experience.
